       Yu Zhu Actions and Indications
  • Nourishes yin; moistens LU dryness (dryness attacking lungs, yin deficiency with cough, dry throat)
  • Generates fluids; Relieves thirst (xiao ke, Stomach yin deficiency with dry throat; thirst)
  • Treats exterior wind-heat invasion with yin deficiency (concurrent yin deficiency and external wind-heat; thirst; slight chills, dry throat, cough, fever, headache, irritability, difficult to expectorate phlegm)

    Special Notes:
  • Yu Zhu and Huang Jing both nourish LU and ST, but Yu Zhu more strongly tonifies ST yin and moistens dryness while Huang Jing more effectively tonifies KD yin with symptoms of dizziness, soreness, and weakness of low back and knees.
